| It doesn't surprise me to hear you say that, Gone With the Wind seems like it would be the more classic of the two. Maybe this weekend, I will cozy up to it on Netflix. | |

| Gone With the Wind, 100% from me! It is one of the best movies ever made, trust me. They couldn't make it today, honestly, it would be too expensive.
Here is something that is almost heresy from a movie buff like me. I was not that impressed with Casablanca. I thought it was dull. I am sure an exception, as it appears on most every top ten list ever created.

| I have seen them both and I understand why some would prefer GWTW. It is a classic but it's a loooong classic. That being said, I know that Casablanca is not without it's flaws. They were making it up as they went and weren't sure if Victor Laszlo or Rich Blaine was going to get Ilsa Lund. Also, - Quote :
- In the 1980s, this film's script was sent to readers at a number of major studios and production companies under its original title, "Everybody Comes to Rick's". Some readers recognized the script but most did not. Many complained that the script was "not good enough" to make a decent movie. Others gave such complaints as "too dated", "too much dialog" and "not enough sex".
I still wouldn't want to have to choose which to save. LOL, maybe GWTW because there's more of it. If you ever get a chance to see The Making of GWTW, check it out.

| I never saw Casablanca but it seems boring and pretentious. I did see GWTW and liked it. | |

| ^^Just curious. If you've never seen it, how did you reach the opinion that it's boring and pretentious? I respect your opinion if you don't care for it even though it's consistently one of the highest rank films in history and I'm honestly not trying to imply anything by that fact. I can understand why people could find it boring, at least compared with GWTW but I disagree with "prenentious". It was considered an "A" movie at the time it was made but no one involved thought they were making anything exceptional that most of the world would later consider a classic. To tell the truth, as much as I'm a fan of it, I prefer The Maltese Falcon. | |

| As much as I like Bogie in just about anything, I prefer "Gone with the Wind" over "Casablanca". GWTW is the better picture and I have a strong dislike for Ingrid Bergman. GWTW all the way. | |
