When you were in school and had spelling...

Does anybody remember that far back? When you were in school and did spelling, how many new words did you have to learn at a time and how often did you get new ones to learn?

I was thinking about this a while back because my neighbor gets a new set of 10 words every week, but when I was in school we did 20 new words a day, so I really can't see why you'd need over 300% of the time for 50% of the words.

Oh Gawd. I remember having those weekly spelling tests, but I forget now how many of those vocabulary words we had to memorize.

i think we learned, 15-20 new words a week.

Ours was ten. My son's are now 20.

I think it was like 20. I was always a very good speller, so it was one of my favorite subjects.

I'm guessing between ten and twenty.
