| Let me just start off that I am a Duran Duran collector. I've got a huge cabinet devoted to my records, trinkets, books, VHS's, DVDs, box sets, discs, bootlegs, etc. But this is just ridiculous. Can I get an amen? - Quote :
- Amidst a whirlwind of performances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Ellen DeGeneres Show; a wildly imaginative, visually stunning live-stream of a one-time-only show directed by David Lynch; and a run of sold-out U.S. record release shows, fans now have one more way to enjoy Duran Duran’s most recent critically acclaimed album ALL YOU NEED IS NOW: on vinyl, as part of a stunning limited collector’s edition box set.
With only 500 copies available worldwide – each individually numbered and signed by the band – this special edition features exclusive artwork created by rising British art star Clunie Reid (Saatchi Gallery, the Tate, New Museum NY), with art direction by UK fashion magazine POP’s creative team, under the direction of fast-rising talent Rory McCartney.
The collector’s edition is available to order exclusively from The Vinyl Factory by clicking here and includes:
• A hand-crafted, transparent black Perspex box with clear face on outer front, providing an artwork frame that can be individually curated by each owner.
• Five heavyweight 180-gram clear vinyl records pressed on the classic EMI 1400, each mastered for vinyl, with the new album pressed across two records, plus an LP of bonus tracks and two 12″ remixes (full tracklist below), including the much sought-after David Lynch reworking of Girl Panic !
• Five beautifully treated bespoke record sleeves, featuring remarkable exclusive artwork on both sides by Clunie Reid.
• Exclusive 36-page book with lyrics silver foiled onto black pages, housed in a gorgeous silver mirrored paper cover, each hand signed and numbered by the members of Duran Duran.
• Exclusive 36-page book showcasing Clunie Reid’s album artwork, with a die-cut front cover of the band’s instantly recognizable D logo. So, my question is this: Would you ever blow 400 bucks on records and a lyric booklet?

| LOL, I wouldn't consider it blowing 400 dollars if it was for an artist I truly liked. When Kate Bush's "This Woman's Work" box set originally came out, I paid 200 dollars for it. I've seen it listed for even more now. So again, yes I would. | |

| 200 dollars isn't 400. | |

No it's not, but if I was huge Duran Duran fan, yes, I would pay 400 for it.

Would you ever blow 400 bucks on records and a lyric booklet? If it was Bob Marley, perhaps. But not for no pictures. And most of that package are pictures. I'd really only be interested in the recordings.

| Call me cheap, but there's no way I'm spending over $100 a pop on any one recording artist. Lot of good a box set is gonna do if my electricity is shut off. | |
