So....Gay Day....who attends that? Gay people, people who are friends with gay people, people who don't mind gay people, and maybe a few homophobes who are looking to make trouble.
How is this exposing people and raising awareness? People who are anti-gay-rights or otherwise homophobic are not likely to visit the park that day.
Think about a 60yo, racist white man. Does he know that black people exist? Of course. Does he know that black people bleed red, just like him? Yep. Does that make him not a racist? No, because he was probably raised in by people who taught him to be a racist. I think the same thing happens with homophobes, and I think very few people are going to change their minds about gay relationships based on exposure. This sort of change only seems to happen when it hits close to home....like, a person's child comes out of the closet. Sometimes not even then. I have a friend at work who has been in a committed relationship for three years....they are an absolutely wonderful couple....but he cannot bring his partner home to meet his parents because the partner is just not welcome there. He was also thrown out of the private college he was attending due to his sexuality.
You wanna end discrimination against gays? Start with the church, not with Six Flags.
