I have had many houses with many different circumstances. Most of been them being that houses were totally carpeted. I even had a house that had carpet in the kitchen. That was a disaster. I have learned with animals and children, hardwood floors is the way to go. You can always lay down a rug somewhere if you want a little carpet. We did live in one military housing that is was total concrete floors. Like what you would find in the hallways of schools or hospitals. Now that was a bit much. It was always cold and scratched/scuffed very easy. Now that they have invented the steam mop, I prefer to mop than to vaccuum.
