    I realized lately that I have no idea what my blood type is. And most people I've asked don't know theirs either. So I thought I'd come here and ask the same question. Do you know your blood type?

    Since there are different types of blood it is reasonable to assume that the different types have different properties as well. Do you know if there are any advantages in having a certain blood type?

    Yeah, I've known my blood type A+ ever since I joined the service and they put it on my dogtag.

    It is called the RH or Rhesus factor and most ppl are positive. There is an advantage to being pos, especially for women having kids because there are problems when an RH negative mother carries and RH positive baby (which is likely given the number of pos fathers out there). A lot of miscarriages and still births can be attributed to this as the mother's immune system sees the baby's pos blood as an invader and sets up immune response. In Western developed countries there has been an anti-immune med to counter this cutting the majority of RH factor problems.

    Of course I didn't know any of that until I just looked it up.

    I found out mine during a blood drive a while ago. Turns out I'm O Negative.
