"I wanted to do shows that were unusual for daytime," Frons told
Deadline. "What's happening now is people are looking for information to
make their lives better; they're obsessed about what they eat and
    they're obsessed with weight."

Yeah. o.k. if people are so obsessed why are there so many overweight Americans? We have the internet for all the weight information we could need, we don't have to watch another Dr. show to find information on nutrition.

Bullshit. There are entire networks devoted to food and lifestyle; you're trying to bite off their concepts because you're a cheapskate, and these will be cheaper to produce. Has nothing to do with being 'unusual.' These are not new concepts replacing the soaps. What's worse is that SOAPnet is about to leave the air soon, so fans of daytime will soon have next to nothing left to commemorate the genre, unlike say those shallow flakes you're hoping to attract with The Chew.

I think this experiment is going to blow up in his face, and he will wind up out of a job. No one is going to watch these shows, least of all the AMC and OLTL fans who just had the rug pulled out from under them. Ratings for The Talk at CBS are no better than they were for ATWT.

Unfortunately, even these new shows tank (and they will), it won't bring OLTL/AMC back. For a decade people have said that Fron's was killing soaps, and now it's finally happened.
