Agnes Nixon releases statement regarding AMC, OLTL cancellations Posted

Agnes Nixon, the living legend responsible for the creation of All My
Children and One Life to Live, has released a statement regarding ABC's decision
to pull the plug on the two soaps. The statement was first released to
Entertainment Weekly.
ABC’s decision to cancel All My Children and One Life to Live saddens me
greatly. I treasure the decades that the worlds of Pine Valley and Llanview were
brought to life by our talented casts and crews. I appreciate that the network
allowed our teams to break new dramatic ground and always supported our
commitment to the honest portrayal of social issues. We hope we have entertained
our viewers and perhaps even educated them along the way.
My deep gratitude goes to all the talented people who have contributed to All
My Children and One Life To Live over these many years; we were always family,
made up of writers, producers, directors, actors, crews. Equally important in
that family are our loyal fans who shared this journey with us. Although ABC has
concluded there is no longer a place for our shows on their network, I will do
everything possible to keep them alive. God bless you all.

SPOILERS FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 18TH – APRIL 22ND
On Monday, April 18: Phyllis Rose from “Access Llanview” reveals some
shocking news. Tea advises Viki to give up the custody fight for Ryder. Bo and
Clint get into an argument about Matthew. Dorian learns that the truth has come
out about Charlie and Echo’s affair. Niki Smith returns!
On Tuesday, April 19: Blair and Tea talk about John. John is confronted by
Tomas regarding his investigation. Deanna is tempted by Starr’s offer. Gigi
accepts Rex’s proposal. Dorian refuses to help Clint.
On Wednesday, April 20: Niki is almost discovered. Natalie nearly uncovers
the truth about Niki, but Tess gives Niki her alibi. Joey and Dorian take Clint
to the hospital after he suffers a heart attack. James is concerned that Tess is
getting to Ford. Starr starts an investigation on Deanna.
On Thursday, April 21: Kelly is threatened by Marty after her conversation
with John. Todd gets a visit by Tomas. Gigi and Shane take Shane to his therapy
session. Jack is attacked and roughed up. Tomas makes contact with his
mysterious associate.
On Friday, April 22: Marty makes a confession to Dr. Buhari that John is
really the father of Liam. Kelly attempts to decode Todd’s files. Jack demands
that Rex be arrested for his attack. John holds baby Liam.
Tess causes Niki Smith to return after she tells Viki how much she has failed
as a wife and mother. Tess and Niki conspire to get custody of Ryder. Natalie
rushes to the hospital after she learns of her dad’s heart attack. Dorian tries
to tell Joey about Aubrey and Cutter at the hospital, but is interrupted when
Natalie arrives to see Clint. Dorian tells Viki the truth about Echo knowing all
along about Clint being Rex’s father, but Dorian doesn’t realize that it’s Niki
she is telling not Viki. Natalie is upset that Rex is not more concerned about
their dad’s condition. After Tea seems relieved that Blair and Tomas are not
seeing each other; Blair makes the decision to ask Tomas out. John runs a
fingerprint analysis on Tomas which comes back as “classified”. Kelly tells John
that Marty paid her visit and threatened her. While at the hospital John and
Natalie have an unpleasant encounter. Gigi returns to Shane’s psychiatrist’s
office to get his backpack and decides to swipe his session tape the doctor
made, but unknowingly grabs Marty’s tape instead. Nora and Matthew discuss how
to make things right. Starr invites Deanna to stay in Langton’s old room at
LaBoulaie. Dorian tries to get Clint to come clean about everything in exchange
for help after she finds him having a heart attack. Starr and Deanna have a
chat. Marty reveals the truth about the paternity results. Shane and Jack come
face to face while at the hospital. Tess upsets Viki which causes Niki Smith to
return, and Tess suggest her and Niki team up. Natalie and Marty have a
confrontation.

SPLIT PERSONALITIES
When Phyllis Rose airs the photo of Charlie and Echo kissing, Natalie is
shocked and convinced that the photo must be a fraud, but Viki confides that
Tess took the photo and it is indeed real. After Natalie leaves to confront
Tess, Tess shows up at Llanfair and goes off on Viki about Ryder’s custody
battle throwing in some digs about Viki’s failures as a wife and mother. Tess
doesn’t let up on Viki until she sees that Viki is writhing in pain and Tess
thinks she is suffering a heart attack until Niki Smith reveals that she has
returned. When Tess returns to Ford’s apartment, Ford expresses his regrets that
Viki must have been hurt by the photograph, but Tess tells him to save it, and
explains how Viki is responsible for Tess’s existence. Later, Tess conspires
with Niki to get custody of Ryder and the two are almost caught by Natalie, but
Tess provides a cover for Niki’s strange appearance. Natalie gets word that
Clint has suffered a heart attack and rushes to the hospital. Dorian and Joey
have accompanied Clint to the hospital, and while he is being treated, Dorian
almost tells Joey the truth about Aubrey and Cutter but is interrupted by
Natalie’s arrival. Dorian goes to Llanfair to tell Viki (who is still Niki) that
Echo knew the truth about Rex’s paternity, and is perplexed when Viki isn’t
angrier. Natalie is upset by Rex’s indifference to Clint’s condition, but Rex
allows Gigi to see that he’s really rocked by the turn of events.
Tea and Blair discuss John’s suspicions of Tomas, and when Tea seems relieved
to know that Blair and Tomas aren’t seeing each other, Blair reacts by asking
Tomas out. Tomas confronts John about investigating him, and John gets Tomas’s
fingerprints. When John submits the fingerprints for analysis, they come up with
a “MATCH” but the results are “classified”. Tomas receives a surprise visit, and
reveals he has a mission to complete. Kelly informs John that Marty paid her a
threatening visit. John and Natalie have an unpleasant encounter in the
hospital. Marty admits to her psychiatrist that she changed Liam’s paternity
results. When Gigi returns to the psychiatrist’s office to retrieve Shane’s
forgotten backpack, she gives into temptation and swipes Shane’s session tape,
but unknowingly grabs Marty’s tape by mistake.
ELSEWHERE IN LLANVIEW
Nora and Matthew try to figure out how to make things right. Starr invites
Deanna to stay at LaBoulaie. Gigi accepts Rex’s wedding proposal. Shane is upset
that Rex told anyone about his suicide attempt. Aubrey and Cutter and Rama
scheme to turn Clint’s misfortune to their advantage. Jack is attacked.
CAN'T MISS
Tess accuses Viki of being a failure in marriage and in motherhood. She
hammers at Viki until Viki is writhing in some sort of private struggle. Tess
thinks she’s having a heart attack until Viki reveals that she’s Niki Smith on
Monday, April 18.
Dorian finds Clint in the throes of a heart attack but refuses to help him
unless he tells her the truth about whether or not Echo knew all along that he,
and not Charlie, was Rex’s father on Tuesday, April 19.
Starr shows Deanna to her new digs in Langston’s old room. Starr pumps Deanna
for information about her relationship with James on Wednesday, April 20.
Blair leaves Jack at the hospital briefly, and Shane and Jack are face to
face on Thursday, April 21.
Marty confesses to Dr. Buhari that Liam is, in fact, John’s baby with Natalie
and that she switched the results. Natalie and Marty come face to face on
Friday, April 22.
SNEAK PEEK: Week of April 25
John tries to find out what Marty is hiding, a struggle for dominance plays
out between Jean and Viki.

Sad. It sounds like she was trying her best to keep it graceful, but she has to be disgusted at all this.

I am sure she is, very disgusted, these were here babies and she knows they should not have been cancelled.
