Re: Appetizers and sides
When we go for Asian food we usually get nime chow, crab rangoon, or fried dumplings of some type.
At seafood places we get Rhode Island style calamari...fried then sauteed with olive oil, garlic, pepperoncini and olives. Bacon-wrapped scallops, clams casino, crab cakes.
At Indian places we get naan bread with sauces, sometimes samosas.
Good bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, hot pepper seeds and parmesan is enough at Italian places. We don't usually get appetizers there unless they have some amazing special.
I work in a chain restaurant, so I can get spinach dip, cheese sticks, wings, etc. whenever I want. That sort of stuff bores me.

OMG....a caprese salad is one of my favorite things to eat in the summer.
Slice up GOOD tomatoes and a ball of fresh mozzarella. Arrange the slices around a place, overlapping, with leaves of fresh basil in between. Drizzle with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.
::drool::
I can't wait for good tomatoes....

If something sounds good and we're in the mood, whatever. We don't have a set list.

I just went to Outback yesterday! We went just for this:) I love their bloomin' onion. Also had their chicken/spinach/artichoke pita bread (think that's what it was called) and it was tasty!
