Are you a fan of (attending) weddings? I was invited to a co-workers wedding in two weeks. It isn't that I don't want to go, but I don't want to go.

I went to one last friday night, it was a relative so I had to go. Ended up having a good time, the DJ was good and the food was good and of course you see those relatives you only see at weddings and funerals and you have to pretend that you are overjoyed to see them LOL.

Yeah, I'm more a reception fan myself. Food and liquor. I think she invited a few people from work, so I may just go. My thing is going and not knowing anyone there, and I doubt she'll bother to chat it up with me much.

And you will be at one of the last tables in the reception hall, that is where they usually place co-workers. Hopefully it won't be right on top of the DJ/band so your ears will be spared.

I don't mind them. My cousin is getting married in July and I'm going to that one. And yeah, the reception is much more fun. Weddings are more of a hassle when you're in one. The last wedding I was in was my cousin's two and a half years ago.

One of my co-workers married recently and put it out that everyone was welcomed to come to the wedding, but strangely the reception was limited to only family and close friends. I thought that was odd. Wouldn't the other way around make more sense?

Robbie, that makes perfect sense. The wedding (namely the ceremony) is free. Hell - drag in strangers off the street. The reception (the fun part) costs $.

I don't really like attending weddings. Granted, receptions can be fun if I know a lot of people there.
