What age do you recall the onslaught of puberty hitting you? And what was the first sign of it?

Women: when did the mosquito bites and cycling start?
Men: when did your smooth grapes start becoming hairy walnuts and how old were you when you began getting facial peach fuzz?

Compared to most of your peers, did your physical maturity happen sooner, later or along with everyone else?

I was 9, and at the time I was the only kid we knew of who did, then a few years later my mom's friend called her up worried that her 9 year old had gotten her period too, and when my mother told her I had too, the friend's response was 'but my daughter's so little!' blank stare @ you Which, I suppose is understandable, by 9 I was almost as big as my mother and by 10 people thought I was an adult.

I was about 9 or 10 when I noticed the hair growing under my arms and in the pubic area and the equipment started getting larger. I got facial fuzz at 13 and was shaving at 15. Mine started a lot sooner then some of my friends.

10 when pubic hair started growing in.
    11 when underarm hair started.
    12 when facial hair started
    13 when chest hair started

    Shaving at 14.

I assumed everybody started getting dick hair at 10. Was kinda surprised to learn that some dudes don't start getting it until around 13 or 14.

I first started getting breasts when I was around 10. They were mosquito bites for real. I still don't have big boobs, at least not as big as I want them. I got my period when I was 11. I think the average age of a girl getting her period is 12 and I got mine before that so I guess I matured about the same level as the average girl. However, there were girls in 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grades with grown women bodies and I never looked like that....although I wanted to. Pubic and underarm hair came around 11, 12 too.

You got your period at nine? Wow. I remember when my uncle was with his son's mother....she told me she got hers at seven. SEVEN. I swear, I don't know what they are putting in the water nowadays.

I think I pretty much started growing up and out at an average age. My breasts first starting growing at 11 (I didn't even notice, my Mom told me I needed a bra. How embarrassing!) and my period started when I was 12. I was always very hairy though; honestly can't remember when pubic hair started, but when I was 8 years old I was swimming with a friend and she commented on my insanely dark, hairy armpits. I looked under my arm and was shocked!

Yeah, 9 and my mother was shocked because she had figured it would happen when I was 12 like when she got hers. But for a really screwed up case I remember about 10 years back, Montel had a special about girls in extremely early puberty, one girl got breasts at 4, one baby got her period when she was still in diapers. Those cases you REALLY have to wonder what the hell they put in the water.
