I doubt there'll be anybody here who's read this book but if there is, here's something I've always wondered...do you think Baum originally planned for Tip to turn into Ozma or do you think he came up with that idea as he went along with the story? Even though it was the second book I thought it was kind of weird there was a boy as the main character, and it would seem Baum thought so too by his track record: Dorothy, Trot, Betsy Bobbin, Ozma, Polychrome, Ozma, it seems he preferred girls in the spotlight as the 'normal' people.

I don't think I ever got around to reading that book - read Wizard of Oz, though. Sounds interesting.
