    i have 1, my direct tv remote which controls the direct tv and my tv.

    Honestly I have about 10 or more to operate all the equipment I have. I mostly use 3, one for the DVR and that also works for the TV, another for the Blu Ray player and the one that came with the tv.

    I have probably at least 5 if you include the stereo and camcorder remotes. With universal remotes some feature usually doesn't work, like the menu option or something. So I just use the real ones.

    There must be a dozen of those things laying around but mainly use 2. The one from the cable company & the DVD remote.

    I have one remote that operates my TV and satellite receiver. I never set it up for DVD and Blu-Ray players though and I used different remotes for those.
