God kill me, I'm starting to like...."Alejandro." Been hearing it on the radio these past few days and it has this summer-time appeal to it. :frustrated:

I like "Pokerface" too....and "Lovegame". Now "Alejandro." I really don't wanna be a fan of hers, but that's three damn Gaga songs that I have this jarring "appreciation" for.

I prefer the Bimbo Jones remix. Course, this is coming from a DJ so of course I'd like the one that's better suited to a club.

Bimbo Jones always has the best remixes of the song. I used to like the Thunderpuss remixes and the morales too. Where do you DJ??

Dark Intensity (Lady Gaga) and Thin White Duke (anything else) remixes are always good too. I DJ at my student union club. Well, not right now as it's closed for the summer but from autumn to spring, I DJ there about once every 2/3 weeks or so. I'm bloody good at it too

I used to help a friend of mine who was a club DJ so I know something about it, I used to have a good time doing it with him. I guess you use CD's now, we used to do vinyl.

It's great, isn't it? Did you do the lights etc or what? Because I know I'd be glad to have someone up there with me doing that. I have plenty of other things to do. Heh, I'm even more hi-tech than that - I use USBs. Well, one deck on USB, the other on CD. It's the best and fastest method, I find.

Yeah I did the strobes and other lights but I also did actual mixing and playing, I used to write down the BPM of the songs so I would know what songs blended into each other, I had a ball doing it, great way to meet new people too!! Wow technology sure has gone forward even for DJ's.

Did you do the smoke as well, or didn't you have any? That's another thing I have to manage. So the technology's improved, I just need more hands. As for the BPM, I write that down when I list the songs on the CDs I've burnt. For example: track 1, Feel Good (TV Off) (Shinichi Osawa Edit) - Boys Noize (126 bpm). It's an unbelievable help as there's so much pressure when I'm up there. Have to get the timing exactly right, so it helps to know.

No there was no fog just the lights. We used to write the BPM on the actual jacket cover and then put them in BPM order so they would be easily accesible. Tell me about the pressure, you want to make sure that you don't screw up a mix, you want to make sure that you hear the beats lining up in that one headphone attached to your ear.

Lucky you. I burn the songs in the order that I'll pay them on the night. Like, something backgroundy would be the first few tracks, then backgroundy with some bass next, then danceable stuff, then the main dance tunes, then winding down towards the end. What kind of stuff did you play? I play electro/club/remix, that kind of thing, but I have a bit of everything so if someone wants some rock or R n' B, I can play that. Yeah, the pressure is immense. Don't get me wring, I love it - I love hearing the songs just melt and blend together, but I never get to hear it properly as I'm a bit preoccupied doing the actual blending. I sometimes record movies and have a listen afterwards so that's ok.

We played mostly Dance Music whatever was popular, some Dance Classics and Euro Dance. Lot of remixes, especially Hot Tracks, Almighty, etc.
