yes i remember having pagers, wow. they were very cool at the time 
i remember too, after punching in whatever number we were callin from, we would have like our own 3 digit "id" number so that the person we were paging knew who it was that paging them. i remember mine was "516"

On a couple of jobs I had to carry one. While in distribution at a large hospital they had to call me on the floors, and for a while I was an on-call manager. Used to bug me thinking that if I got a page while at the nude beach I would have to get dressed and start looking for a pay phone.
Now, both pagers and pay phones are history.

I had a bunch of friends/girlfriends who had pagers, but I never got around to getting one myself.
