Name a movie that you found to be so disturbing that you couldn't stop thinking about it for days and even now it still had an impact on you.

For me it was Requiem for a Dream. Starring Jared Leto, Ellen Burstyn, Jennifer Connelly and Marlon Waynes. It's about when the drug-induced utopias of four Coney Island individuals are shattered when their addictions become stronger.

What was disturbing was how you witness their lives just fall apart. Especially Ellen Burstyn's character. Quite captivating, ending is so depressing. Just disturbed me a lot. The imagery was intense. Very well directed. Dark movie.

I think it would still be The Strangers. I can take any slasher Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street movie but the things in this one just seemed to be a different type. I had so much sympathy for the couple. I had to look away.

I saw Requiem for a class in college...agreed it's disturbing and I could've gone the rest of my life without seeing that one...also though there's The Day After which some people think it's corny or whatever but that's a very scary movie...and oddly enough I don't think this one's actually worse than Requiem, Revenge of the Living Dead, that's one of them foreign horror movies, anybody who sees it will be sorry.

I haven't really watched many VERY disturbing movies in my life. Schindler's List, 12 and Holding, and Changeling all have some heavy disturbing elements. I guess I'd give the title to 12 and Holding for now but I'd probably need to see more first. FORGIVENESS MAN

I notice movies with Jared Leto tend to be disturbing.

The girl next Door, not the comedy one. I cursed my friend for giving me this movie, it was so disturbing I could not get it out of my head for days! The horror of what happened to this girl by her Aunt is just disgusting.

I would say "Schindler's List". It's the most horrific Holocaust film ever made, in my opinion. The destruction and pain and death by the Nazis was horrifying. 6 million dead because they were Jewish. It's sick that human kind is capable of that much destruction.

I avoid horror movies and slash/gore movies for the most part. Psycho scared the crap out of me when I decided to watch it one night after finishing a late night paper. Was weeks before I felt comfortable stepping through a doorway at night with the lights out.

In terms of the content itself, rather than the horror factor.... Schindler's List was certainly a movie that I only needed to see once and it has not lost the impact. You know a movie has made an impact when a theatre full of high school students walks out in COMPLETE silence. I knew the history but seeing it dramatized on the big screen...

The Passion of the Christ was pretty disturbing in terms of the violence. Again, it was something I'd read about but seeing it on the big screen. Same for the first part of Saving Private Ryan.

I'd have to think about this some more, as I know there were movies that really disturbed me - just can't think of them right now.

Hannibal. I know it was purposely over the top, and tongue in cheek, especially at the end when Hannibal Lecter ate the guy's brain. Satirical even.

But I couldn't eat all that next day!
