This or something like it may have already come up but what job/career could you roll out of bed each day for and not feel like you're working? How far away are you from doing it now?

Re: What is your dream job?
Published author/Successful TV Show and Movie creator. Maybe an actor if I had an iota of acting talent. (which I don't)
How close am I? I'm in the Arctic. (Well, the published author thing, maybe Canada. lol)

^This, except I think I'm a bit more cut out for acting, besides, I think it would make heads roll to have somebody like me in the spotlight for a change.

Re: What is your dream job?
My dream job would be consulting businesses that took their moto, skate and/or bmx facilities seriously enough to hire a consultant upon start up/profit year. This is the best part of my job right now, but because I know so many in the industry, it sucks because I do it for next to nothing all the time because I love it, and don't want them to get some ass hat in there trying to tell them how to do things when they have no idea how things run. And there is not a call for my dream job to be full time...so it is literally a dream job...but at least when I die, I can say I set up a couple tracks pretty well, though I have nothing to show for it, just my heart.

Re: What is your dream job?
Well, my 'dream' job would be a fluffer on a porn set. Maybe even a top performer in a porn flick. In yer dreams!
My present job as an admin. assistant doing office work, writing reports, making forms, organizing some meetings was good for the first 7 years and I really enjoyed going to work. I was middle management, worked about 50 hours a week and felt I made a real contribution to the agency.
Until 4 years ago we got this CEO/President (the previous boss was happy to be Executive Director, but he didn't have self-esteem issues) Our 'President' micromanages, but gives no clear direction or follow-up, is vindictive, and requires yes men, which I am not so we do not get along. I have a clean work record for over a decade so even tho in Fl I could be fired at will, it could be messy if I did an EEOC lawsuit on age discrimination. I so want to quit but can't afford to retire and there are no other job opportunities in this economy. So, I once had a dream job before the nightmare boss came along.

Re: What is your dream job?
I'd like to work exclusively in a Blood Bank reference lab, like the Red Cross. Presently, I rotate between all departments in the lab where I work--Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Urines/Serology, and general Blood Bank/Transfusion. I'm also the lead tech in the lab as well as the chief Safety officer, and after 24 years of that, I'd love to be a one-tasker for a while. Blood bank has always been my favorite department, so I'd like to end up there, permanently.
Figuring out tough antibody cases and finding compatible blood for transfusion gives me a feeling of great accomplishment, and I'd love to do that all the time. (Yes, I'm a science nerd!)
How close am I to doing that? Only 2 more years until we start looking at college for my daughter, and there won't be anything keeping me in my present job, then, so I can make a career move fairly soon if something comes along, or if I need to relocate to provide housing for my daughter when she's in college depending on where she ends up.
