Armageddon 2419: Buck Rogers BEFORE the comic strip!

My mother and I got the old Buck Rogers serial to see and we liked it, so I started looking to see if there were any books written about the series to get her for her birthday, and I found out that there's a book called Armageddon 2419 which is Buck or rather Anthony Rogers, in his original form because the comic strips were made AFTER this novel came out. I thought that the comics were what started it all, and I'll bet when she gets this book next week she'll be surprised as well.
