I don't get the direction of the whole Shane thing. His new shrink says he can off home schooling in time for the next school semester, but he doesn't want to go back.

Let me think for a second...

That would take brains on the part of his parents and they're lacking them, so it wouldn't occur to them to send him to a different school.
