If you could dedicate yourself to a charitable cause, what would it be?

I would like to do something that would benefit the senior citizens. They have a wealth of information to share with you if you take the time out to listen. Most of them have a tough time surviving and need people to help them out.

I do have a big heart and sometimes its taken advantage of.

I do. I volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) on behalf of neglected and abused chidren. I get assigned a court order to take care of a child/children that are in the court system because their parents abused them or neglected them. I go and visit them, their foster parents, their parents, the lawyers, counselors, teachers, doctors to check on the children welfare. I appear in court to give my recommendations to the judge when the case is in review. At times it is hard to recommend to end the parental rights but at times it is great to see children reunited with their parents.
The second thing I volunteer for is as sexual assault and rape victim advocate. I am an call two Sundays a month. When I get called I go to the hospital to provide support and information to the victims.
Lastly, I also volunteer at Fort Bliss helping Soldiers and their families with military life issues by giving them classes that cover all aspects of being a military family.

I'm an advocate with Compassion International and that's a cause I really believe in. I'm also a supported of a friend's organization in Uganda. If I had the money, I'd love to spend 3-6 months volunteering over there with her - holding babies, playing with the kids in her child development centres, especially the orphanage, helping out in her school and doing what I can.
