I don't. Aside from getting my son sparklers (which he probably won't think are cool this year) I don't because it is a waste of money to me.

Every year, people in this neighborhood set them off earlier and earlier. Right now, there is someone setting off a bunch of firecrackers, which is annoying as hell. But, weekend days, there are people who will have parties with full displays....from now until August.

We usually do. My son does a little show almost every year. It's cheaper than driving all the way across town fighting traffic both ways for what always turns out to be the same show they had the year before. The big ones are banned here for personal use but there's always a good variety of the ones we can buy here & the kids in the neighborhood enjoy it.

They pretty much banned fireworks for sale up here. People still get 'em though but I don't know anyone who sells them off. I miss lighting fireworks. I might try to get some this year.

They're totally banned in my area, but people in my town usually just go buy some and the do them anyways. So I just might so visit some of the neighbors who get some to see their fireworks.

Oh yeah, I put away some money over the year so I can buy plenty of them. Last year the mosquitos ate us alive before we could set the good stuff off so we have plenty left over from last year and won't have to buy so much this time. But also every year one place has a drawing for a HUGE package of fireworks about 7 feet tall, and I hope I win it this year. Surprised

The ones I could never get is the parents who have kids, and they take them out and buy about 10 million firecrackers and nothing but, we had a kid like that next door to us and three of them across the street from us, no smoke bombs, no tanks, no rockets or parachutes or Roman candles, just firecrackers all day and all night. What is the appeal in that?

Probably because they aged out of sparklers and that was the next cheapest kind?

I won't buy anything for my son beyond sparklers. I am not a fan of him using a lighing device anyway. So, sparklers were cool because I could light them then hand them off.

Well that's why there're punks, you light the punk and the kid lights the fuses with that instead of trying with matches or a lighter.

They were banned two years ago, I think, 'cause teenagers would get them illegally, set them off and then get injured. Some almost died and some suffered pretty serious injuries. The Chinese will still sell them illegally, though.
