Did anyone see Deliverance? To this day, I have yet to see it. I've only seen miscellaneous clips of it. If you saw the whole thing, how did you like it? Did you read the novel?

Re: Deliverance (1972)
I have not read the novel because the library's copy is falling apart, I did see the movie, and I was expecting something a bit different. The way it had always seemed to me when I heard about it was that they were up against the locals, like there was a whole pack of these hicks trying to kill them, not just 2 of them and then the rest of the movie's spent trying to cover up the deaths and survive the rivers.
Now, one thing I never got, Burt Reynolds' character said if it went to trial, his folks would be on the jury and they wouldn't buy self defense...well WHY say self defense? Surely even these toothless numbnuts have heard of hunting accidents. You thought you saw a deer or whatever, and it turns out you stuck an arrow into a man, for a bunch of cityboys out in the wilderness, you never know, it could happen.

Squeal, Tony. He squealed like a pig. Let's try to get it right.

After I wrote it I realized I should have said Squeal instead of whining but I was too lazy to change it. Thanks Unc
