Have you ever been lectured or nagged about any fears, phobias, hangups, etc., etc. you have by someone who thought you were being silly? If so, did their lecturing cause you to budge from your position, or was it just a waste of breath for them?

I don't have any "silly" hangup's, but if I did a lecture probably wouldn't help.

Getting lectured usually just pisses me off. If someone wants to talk to me like a human being that's different. But a lecture? No lol

i thought the title meant. like if you got a call from a telemarketer or something, and they talked you into not hanging up on them

I have a hangup about being lectured to. I usually get pissed, vocal and loud toward the lecturer, which is part of my hangup - so I guess the answer is

This. I don't have any silly hangups either. I've been 'lectured' before, but they basically didn't tell me anything that I already didn't know.

I did. Before I turned 30, I was so stupidly freaking out about not having this, that and the other thing all figured out. I felt like 30 was this milestone where I should have way more of my ducks in a row. One of my best friends brought me back down to Earth on that one, and it was greatly appreciated.
