Since they just about have to be fully cooked now it would probably be somewhere in the middle. Don't really like them too thin.

Medium. Thin is eaten too fast, but thick has a tendency to be undercooked in the middle.

Don't like them too thick or they are just too complex to eat. I do like those really thin ones that are served in cafeterias. They taste much different than a hand made patty.
