| Hair weaves, extensions, wigs, troupes, etc., etc.
What is your opinion of artificial hair? Is it a turn on or turn off?

| Some people need them because of different medical reasons or heredity. If it makes them happy, fine. They don't have to get one that looks like a possum crawled up on their head & died. Something realistic is nice. | |

| Some of the wigs out there are very realistic looking, like the one I wore during chemo: Mine cost $300 and the higher you go in price, usually the better quality they are, and they even make them out of real human hair. Mine was synthetic, though, and my daughter is going to chop her hair off soon to donate it for "Locks of Love". I think that wigs/hair extensions can be fun if you want to look and feel a little different than you normally do from time to time. A girl I work with has 3-4 different wigs just for fun, and we never know who she'll show up looking like on any given day! After having worn one out of necessity, I can say that right now, it sort of creeps me out to think of putting a wig on for whatever reason, even a fun one for a costume event--memories of being bald are still too fresh, and for me to even pull mine out of its box and touch it gives me feelings of revulsion. I imagine that with more time that passes, I'll calm down a bit and loosen up again, but right now--can't do it! | |

| I just don't give a shit. It's one thing if you're in Hyacinth Girl's situation but rugs and come-overs? I'll go for the Patrick Stewart look first, | |

| Been there, done that. I used to get braided hair extensions, but they became too costly and time consuming. Now I just rock my own hair. | |

Actually, for het guys quite a few women like bald. Even before Bruce Willis and Patrick Stewart there was Yul Brenner & Telly Savalas. My wife was crazy about Kojak's look.

| I'll get weave in my hair only for braiding, or maybe filling in a bun or something. I never needed a weave. But I realize a while ago that black women wear entirely TOO MUCH FUCKING WEAVE!! It just hit me like ton of bricks one day. If you have short hair, rock a fly short style and keep it moving. | |
