The President of this company I work for occasionally says "hit the ground running" when he wants us to make this place our lives.

I hate it.

I have to 100% agree with Get er Done. Worst phrase ever.

One that I'm SICK of hearing at work is "I don't have a problem with... and then they name some kid or group. Usually this comes form co-workers who don't do supervision, so of course they're not going to have a problem with those kids when they don't have to enforce any rules. There's a group of grade 8's that several of us are having a lot of problems with. Made the mistake of mentioning it to one co-worker, who came back with that reply. Wish I'd thought to say "I probably wouldn't have a problem with them if I didn't have to do supervision in their wing every day". This co-worker does supervision one day a week in the grade 6 wing, which is a pretty easy wing. she never has any other supervision duties, so of course she's not going to have problems during lunch hour.

Jump the shark. As much as I'm against censorship & believe in freedom of speech I wish this phrase could be banned forever. There are no words to adequately describe how much I hate it.

A defining moment when you know that your favorite television program has reached its peak. That instant that you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it the climax. We call it 'Jumping the Shark.' From that moment on, the program will simply never be the same."[5]

The problem is it's become an inappropriately & absurdly overused phrase that people use every time something happens that they just don't like.

What I sometimes call the "excusing away" of something bad happening to someone. "God's will" "the lord will use this for his purpose" When people say this after someone has died or had some horrible thing happen to them I want to tell them that's a pretty fucking sadistic god. People use "god" to back up a personal belief. Drives me nuts too.

I totally forgot my worst one. "Last time I checked...." Ugh, I despise that one so much.

Yeah - I agree about the "Whatever" and "Take a chill pill" Had one group of little hellions last year who were always acting up and then when you said something to them, they'd tell you to take a chill pill.
