Law & Order: SVU has found two new detectives: Kelli Giddish and Danny Pino will join the show as series regulars.
Giddish starred on NBC’s short-lived Chase and has also appeared on The Good Wife. Pino starred for seven seasons on Cold Case. The duo join the show as it enters its 13th season.
The hires come in the wake of Chris Meloni leaving the show. They also provide a potential replacement, of sorts, for Mariska Hargitay — who will maintain a presence on the show all season long, but may not and who will appear in every episode. The network is also leaving open the possibility of more L&O: SVU cast changes (naturally!). So EW readers, this new team, what say you: Better? Worse? | Danny Pino is a good actor, but I have a feeling that they are going to use him to be a dry knock off of Stabler (because that's what his previous Cold Case character was.) | |

| Im not going to like the show without chris meloni. i do hope that he goes onto bigget and better things. I didnt even know that he was freakshow in Harold/Kumar Whitecastle until i read the credits. loved him in OZ and think he is a great actor | |

| They also cancelled Criminal Intent after 10 years.
And this show was already in the drain as it was, getting rid of Elliot and bringing in Thing 1 and Thing 2 isn't going to do anybody any favors. | |
