Omfg its official. Banks don't know how to do shit but open accounts. How can such basic requests be SO fucking baffling to a company?!

Re: Banks .
Damn, who do you bank with? I have several accounts with Wachovia and Chase. I LOVE Wachovia. Never had a problem out of them. I just started with Chase a couple of months ago, have to give them some time to completely critique them.

Re: Banks .
Chase isn't that great. I once tried to open a checking account there and they wanted $300 down to start it. They say Bank of America is the worse. Right now I bank at 2 different places...one for checking and one for savings.

They are. And I don't know why my silly butt doesn't have one. I had one a few years ago when I was living down south....they would let me write a check to myself for like $1000, give me the cash, then give me a month to pay it back and get the account current. And I was getting direct deposit so my checks would just cover the balance and pay it off. I only did it like twice, but it was a great thing to know that I had that option.

I had a Bank of America credit card. They do suck. And Chase is a MONSTER. They were GIVING people $100 just to open up a new checking account and the minimum deposit you had to make was only $100. They recently took over Washington Mutual and that was a pretty popular bank here in the Northeast. Can't nobody fuck with Chase up here.

Re: Banks .
I have a joint checking account with my Dad at Chase. I asked that I be the primary on it and what did they do? They linked all my accounts with them on to that account I have with my Dad and all my statements went to his house. I blew a gasket and it took them 2 months to fix it and I never ended up being the primary on the account like I originally asked.

Re: Banks .
My very first checking account was at Chase and they were terrible. Back then they'd allow you to take money out of the ATM that you didn't have, and would then would treat that like a bounced check. My credit was nearly ruined screwing with them.

Here, here. You can find many banks that will give you totally free checking, while many credit unions will want you to keep a high minimum balance for one. At least that is the way it is at my jobs credit union. With them, I only have a savings account. I went ahead and opened a checking account at Citizens, since their was free. I think it only cost something like $50-$100 to open the actual account.

Banks seem to be pretty inefficient lately. (And so ends FM's 4Kth post. )
