Don't think there was a thread about SALEM'S LOT. I saw this on TV when I was little....I remember it being creepy and having a dreadful atmosphere, but didn't follow the story.
Anybody that saw it....what did you think?

Great adaption of Stephen Kings book. You have to see the Mini-Series version unedited. This movie scared the devil out of me with the Vampire looking like Nosferatu. It was genuinely a well put together Vampire movie. The scene with the kid at the window will creep you out!! I recommend it but only the un-edited version, I have seen the edited version and its all chopped up.
The story is basically about an old house in Salem's Lot that has been abandoned for years. Ben comes back to Salem's Lot to write a novel about the house he has some violent childhood memories about. The house has been sold now and a new Owner named Mr. Barlow is moving in. The story unfolds from there. James Mason plays a very creepy role as the protector of the Vampire.
Yeah - the vampire kid floating at the window was creepy! Both versions (1979 & 2004) were TV movies. The character of Father Callaghan appears again in King's Dark Tower series.
