Well, if I know I can keep them....I'll make a promise. If I know that I'm iffy about something, then I won't promise you anything.

Same here. If I say I am going to do something, I do, and if I may or may not, then I state as much. I can't stand people who promise things, then don't follow through.

Totally depends on who it is and what they're asking and how much time I have. I won't make a promise that I cna't keep, though.

I rarely make promises. It is literally something I go out of my way to avoid. Promises are seldom honored, and disregard for them is something I have a problem with. So I don't commit to things with promises because I don't want to be an a---hole and not follow through.
