Probably some people here remember the ads for the movie of it that came out a couple years ago, stop motion animation about a girl who enters an 'other' world with 'other' parents and everybody seems nice but they're really evil and have big black button eyes.

I found the book at the library and I didn't see the movie but I figured what the hell?, so I checked the book out, and I'm only 4 chapters into it so far but it seems interesting. Though there's one thing that I don't get, when Coraline finds out her parents are trapped in the mirror, her first instinct is to call the police. What the hell? And of course it gets brushed off as a nightmare cuz she's calling in the middle of the night, so she just has to go back to the other side and handle it herself anyway, why not do that first?
