HomeWhat time will the kids in your area be heading back to school? Any idea yet? I think here they go back the last week in August, which is better than it has been the last few years. I personally don't get people who say kids have too much summer vacation as it is. Our parents were out even longer and they got a LOT more work done back then. Rather I find the problem to be too many vacation days during the rest of the year and too much playtime busywork instead of actual academic education.

City kids probably go back in early September but I think some Burb districts go back in later August.

Yep her freshman year is rapidly approaching, and it's making us all a little neurotic. She is hitting me up to take her school shopping, and I'm like, 'Isn't your mother taking you?' (I know her mother is, she's just wants twice the apparel.)

I never cared. I also never got the point of it other than having outgrown the old ones, but I don't recall if that was ever the issue with me.

Kids head back right after the Labour Day weekend, though I can't remember if it's the Tuesday or the Wednesday.

Here in NJ it is the thursday after labor day, but my neice in Hawaii starts in august. She even had some optional summer classes she took.
