13. I don't know what it is about that specific age but just speaking from personal experience, once they hit 13 it's a damn good thing I got so attached to them as infants.

Re: The worst age for children.
Yeah, early to mid teen years seem to be the consensus.
I inherited my stepdaughter at 13 and she was a bit of a pain, but I attributed it to me 'stealing' her mother. (Shoulda seen the girls bottom lip when her mom and I came outta the bedroom after maybe making a little afternoon delight noise.)
But, she got over that quick and was never a real problem.
My grandson accompanied me on many travels from 14 to 16. Grampas got it better with teens for some reason even tho I did keep a close rein on the kid. But the travelling diffused a lot. He was out of his comfort zone.

For my mother I think it was 11, because that was the point where she basically said she couldn't wait for me to be 18 and be out on my own.

My mother had 4 girls, and she swears that hands down its 13 with girls. Boys she thinks are much easier than girls--- they dont give the same back talk and whininess

Between 12 and 15 - starts toward the end of the 12th year and continues through the early teens.

Re: The worst age for children.
From my personal experience it was 11 for my son (he's 12 now). At 11, he really pushed limits and had some less-than-sweet moments. All this talk of 13+ being the hardest has me afraid....
