How environmentally conscious are you? Are you totally into it and constantly look for ways to do your part to "Go Green", or is it not that much of a prioity for you?

I do what I can in my own life to reuse and recycle, but I don't take it to the extremes of having a wind turbine on my property. Small, everyday stuff has an impact, too, like donating old towels and sheets to the local vet's office, instead of just throwing them away, reusing shopping bags, giving new life to an old piece of furniture with a simple coat of paint.

What are some things you do that are Eco-friendly?

We have a garbage bin and a recycling bin, and that's as much as I do.

Recycle bins go to the curb once a week but I'm not using an electric car, buying bags or using one sheet of tp or anything like that.

I recycle and I used those green grocer bags. I hardly have any plastic bags in my house. That about it.

We have 4 recycling bins, aluminum cans, tin cans, papers, plastic bottles/jugs, when they get full we cart them down to the recycling center. We also take all the egg shells and peelings from potatoes and stuff like that, instead of throwing it away we put it in the garden so it'll mulch down and the nutrients go back to that...which I guess it needs because our garden has just gone to hell this year. Of course a big problem with that is we don't have any honey bees this year, they're attracted to the clover that grows in our grass and for some reason it didn't come up this year.

^^ I sometimes dump stale bread and crackers out at the back of my property for the squirrels, birds, and other animals to eat instead of throwing it away--I suppose that's sort of recycling in a way!

    I. . um. . sort of feed the neighbor's cat, too, whenever he comes to visit me. big grin I guess that's why he keeps coming over! LOL But he does take care of all the chipmunks that are tunneling all over my property, in return for the food and attention I give him, so I suppose if you stretch your imagination, that's sort of being Eco-friendly; have the cat catch the chipmunks, so they don't destroy things in my yard, thus causing me to replace stuff and filling up the landfills with the waste that could've been preserved if not for the little rodents! big grin

That's true. We kind of quit feeding the birds when our block became a cat zone, we don't know a lot of people who HAVE cats, but they're all over, and they're either strays or they live nearby. I've taken to feeding them figuring that way the birds can be left alone and have a better chance to get away.

I recycle bottles at the store like most people, and have a recycling bin for newspapers, box cartoons and plastics. I'm not an extremist with it, but I have made a habit of tossing recyclables in the bin and the rest in the trash. The garbage man and the recycle man both come on the same day, so it all goes to the curb at the same time.

I recycle cans, bottles, plastic and newspapers. I keep my lights on dim when I am not in the kitchen area and I use my ceiling fans when I can.
