What would you do if your spouse did this?

What would you do if one day your spouse was reading in the newspaper about a crash and said your best friend was in it and killed and they let you get all wracked with grief before they started laughing and said they made it up and just wanted to see what your response would be?

I'm currently reading the book RAVEN about Jim Jones, and I've said from the get-go HOW did this happen? How did this guy have so many followers when he was so psychotic? And everybody says, like they did with Helter Skelter, oh it's not as simple as all that, oh...well it seems right away that there were plenty of warning signs that this guy had no regard for anybody's life but his own, including this one that he did to his wife shortly after they were married...now to me that would've been one big ass red flag and I would've beaten the shit out of him for that...of course I don't take things at face value either, I would've demanded to see the article and read it for myself, but still...

Curse him out.

Well, in my world "revenge" is a bitch. And I have the memory of an elephant. So my husband (as well as the first one) learned to seriously evaluate what he does to me for the sake of laughter at my expense.

remember that jim jones started as a preacher active in building up the community in a time when the world was a not so nice after vietnam, civil rights riots, and the hippies started coming down from the drugs... manson had already occured.

As a joke that is extreme, but my bro in law plays pranks on my sis all the time... including once calling her and telling her that their son was arrested for drunk driving and he couldnt get him out of jail..... my answer... some men can be stupid... and you have to take a newspaper and train them like a dog! LOL

I would be so upset and I would hope that someone that cared about me wouldn't be so cruel. My friend's grandfather used to do things like that to his wife. All the time. He would fake dead or tell her one of the kids was hurt or killed. Just crazy.

This is true but this occurred quite a while before he reached that level of popularity, this was long before they were filling up their home with the poor to 'help'; and also this was before he was terrorizing she and her nephew that he was trying to adopt as his own son, on an almost daily basis. Seems at about every point in this nut's life there were red flags everywhere. He locked the neighborhood kids up in the loft and smiled as they panicked and smiled more as they tried to escape and ultimately went in the house before he ever let them out, he shot a rifle through the toe of one guy's shoe and just missed his foot, then later shot at him with a pistol and tried to kill him because he wanted to go home; this was all before he got out of his teens.

I would be extremely angry and I would hate to think what my reaction would be.

I'd be pissed.

And the next time the phone rings and I answer it, after I hung up I'd tell them that I was so sorry....but their sister died.

Then hahaha....nah....she's fine.

See how they like that shit.

I can't imagine my wife ever doing that to me in the first place.
