    Black or brown for dress, white for athletic shoes unless it's a pair of Chuck Taylor hightops which have to be black.

    I don't have much a preference. I buy what I need and what I want to go with certain outfits. I like my boots in either color....black goes with everything, so does a dark brown or cognac color. Athletic shoes...I have black, brown and taupe Coach sneakers....I also have the multicolor ones that are fuschia, I keep a pair of all black hi and low tops, all white hi and low tops, and all brown hi and low tops....I have kicks that are black/purple, black/lime, pink/white, blue/white, blue/black, all purple, etc. Casual and dress shoes can come it any color, I have red heels, lavender snakeskin heels, black and green heels. It's good not to have all of your shoes in one color.

    For dress, usually black. For semi-dress, black, browns or white (and I have athletic shoes in those colors, too).

    I have to ammend what I said about white athletic shoes. way back in the day all my running shoes were white but these days they come in so many different colors. This is what I call white.

    Dress shoes I prefer black and sometimes blue. Casual shoes I prefer brown. Sneakers, I prefer to be white or gray.
