    If you are home tomorrow night, the Monster Energy Cup is Saturday night on Speed channel. A select group of the fastest motocross racers on the planet (minus Chad Reed) will battle for a million bucks.

    This is probably not too exciting for y'all, but it is a huge moment in action sports. It is the first million dollar payout for a single event.

    The Cup replaces the former US Open of Supercross, which was a huge event with a much less significant pay out.

    I was hired to write a press release for this year's event, detailing the new dynamic of the big money pay out. So ironic since this new platform eliminates the amateur racers. The Amateur Arenacross World Finals used to be held the same weekend in Las Vegas, at the MGM Grand, and my son raced it on his 50cc motorcycle.
