Six months at least. I'm not one to just go out of town on short notice.

Either or. I do spur of the moment trips a lot, but I will also plan if I know I'm going to be off at a certain time.

I used to go spur of the moment try to find a room when I get there, stuff like that. Now I kinda like booking all my travel and hotels in advance online and you usually save more by doing that a month or two early.

I plan as far ahead as two years. I don't make the reservations that early, but that's when I start socking away money for it. And to stay at the place we like in New Orleans I have to book it at least a year in advance.
