I absolutely loved this macabre movie, but my daughter and husband really hated it. They didn't understand that the acting was supposed to be exaggerated.
I believe this is when I first saw Joaquin Phoenix. The boy grossed me out then and still does.

LOVE this movie!!
One thing I just realized, cuz I seen this movie just a few weeks ago, when the verdict came in, why were Larry Morreto's parents and sister at their family restaurant and not at the court house? (Just something small i've noticed)
And Alan, I loved the ending too.

I don't remember that but it's been a while. You could be right. I think Larry's father flipped out with the bat in the restaurant because Nicole Kidman was dragging his dead son through the mud to reporters.

Yea that's exactly what happened, verdict came in, and they were at their restaurant, outside the courtroom she started saying how he was on drugs, that's when his father took the bat to the tv.
