I remember my parents renting it from the video store when I was a little kid, I think it was my first memory of Cher.

yep... good movie. it showed his mother as pretty raw and "real". most movies make moms like her look like perfect martyrs who make no mistakes

That is so true. She was real and flawed. I really liked the movie. I love the scene where he is teaching Lauren Durn about billowy clouds.
