The thread about school pictures got me to wondering....how did you go about taking your graduation pictures? Did you take them at the school, or at a separate picture studio? If you have any kids who graduated HS, how did they do it?

They were taken at the H.S. during the summer before as I recall but I never bothered to show up. If I hadn't been involved in a sport I wouldn't have been in the year book. College was at a photo studio. That one I showed up for.

Ours were all taken a the town photography studio. Mine came out horrible.

My daughter's was done at by an individual at parks. Some really, really good ones, though I didn't care for the one she chose for the yearbook.

The actual cap and gown pictures were taken at school...my senior pics for the yearbook I took at another studio because I wasn't in town when the school was taking them for seniors.

Mine was taken at Vincent Price Studio in St. Louis. (If you are into old horror movies, you will recognize the name - yes Vincent was also into fotografy and had a chain of studios.) Kinda like that connection.

Oh, you will notice that they still did hand tinting of black & white fotos in '63.

    Your Senior/HS Grad Pictures Top-1

This was taken shortly before graduation and marriage. I was 17 for both.

I went to 3 different portrait studios. The set my mom picked at the time was the WORST, but the cheapest. 2 or 3 years later, she went back and bought the pictorials from the others.

I went by myself and my mom learned not to trust 17-year-old Scorpio boys. She did not like my mustache (which was just starting to show) and told me to have it removed in the foto. I told the fotog to make it show more and told my mom I had them fix it.
