    Depends. I don't care for widescreen if the two black bars are still on top of the screen. If it's like that, then I prefer the full screen.

    I'll take widescreen/letterbox any day. I'd rather put up with the black bands at the top and bottom of the screen and see everything than only be able to see part of the scene.

    Some do & I think that would be the perfect option for people who have a specific preference. It's disappointing to only find a movie you want with the wrong format.

    Except there are some movies that full screen actually shows more of a picture than wide screen.

    Now that I have all flat screen TV's I prefer the wide screen you get to see much more.

    When we went shoping for our new TV (Sony was 7 years old) we only considered wide-screen.

    For the most part....I want my picture to take up the entire screen. No black bars on the the top. None on the sides. If I watch something, I want to the see the whole picture. Widescreen is only better when it takes up the whole screen.
