I think we're probably at the point in the series where a main character will be killed. I know this is supposed to be Olyphant's baby but I can't see the show surviving without Boyd. And Art brings a lot to the show too. Think

Wasn't that awesome? So powerful without a word. I've seen Timothy Olyphant in several roles. But Raylan was just about written for him.

I was looking for a timeline on Drew Thompson & came up with a reviewer's guess about his identity. I honestly think they could be right. They think it might be

Forgot about that role. But I can see him mingling with the Harlan "power players". Whoever Thompson is, people are sure going out of their way to either protect him or avoid the consequences. I'm in that group that believes for the sake of the story Drew Thompson has to be someone we know. Otherwise it's a season long build up to "so what?" if he's a new character.

I hate being one of those people I can't stand & say the writing on that storyline sucked. He didn't realistically fit the timeline.

- Shelby had worked for the Harlan PD for 20 years, then Black Pike & was a greeter for a awhile. Doesn't sound like anyone who was rubbing elbows with the Harlan elite 10 years ago that the hill woman talked about. She would have clearly known who Shelby was. His own little speech at the Black Pike meeting "you all know me..." I think it was shabby writing. Almost like they had intended it as a red herring & then just said fuck it. I will say whatever suckery in the story was made up for by Raylan talking about Arlo's last words. That was awesome

I suppose it's possible they didn't have the whole season mapped out before had but I don't think I'd be comfortable doing that.

Very interesting article. Thanks. So the feel of the storyline makes sense now. It started with such a big splash (or splat lol) you would think this had all been carefully thought out in advance. Still think it was the wrong way to go but it's what we got. Definitely looking forward to where they're going with Boyd/Ava/Ellen May/Colton/cousin Johnny. Thinking at least 2, maybe 3 will not survive the season.

Yeah, I got a wiff of that undertone too. Probably nothing to it but you never know. The previews remind me of The Gauntlet with Clint Eastwood.
