I've never been a patient in the hospital period, and don't plan to.

Yes, I had a bleeding ulcer and didn't realize I had a problem until I couldn't stand up, had to crawl to the bedroom to get dressed that morning . Went to the ER (here in Canada its free)they immediately admitted me and hoped to stop the bleeding but during the night that worsened. They gave me 4 units of blood before they operated on me and 3 units after. I spent 7 days in ICU before they sent me to a regular ward. I might also add that none of that cost us a cent, in the US it would have ruined us financially.

Oh, but didn't you know, socialized medicine doesn't work.
Or at least that's what our politicians (who get free med coverage for life) tell us.
