Marc's question about being in union made me think of this. If you ever have been/are in a union, have you ever been on strike? Did you/would you cross the picket line?

There's this old hotel in Chicago (Congress Plaza 1883) that has had strikers picketing it for years. I stayed at it on my first trip thru that city in 2004 when I visited with my grandson.

It was the cheapest, most convenient hotel downtown next to Grant Park and we just walked in past the picketers. My last visit there in 2007, tho I didn't stay in that hotel I did see the strike was still going. I think the strike is a lost cause.

im in a union but it is illegal for us to strike... go figure
