Dreadful experiences you appreciate.

All the dreadful things made me stronger but I can't say I look back on them with fondness.

Couldn't find a hotel or a bus out of Tehran in the '70s so we slept on benches in a park.
Same think happened to us in Villa Hermosa Mex. and slept on a park bench there.
Not so bad an experience. Didn't get harassed by the police or beat up by punks in either place as could have happened in the U.S.
Spent hours on the side of I-10 in California hitch hiking, wondering if I would spend the night, but all this was accepted at the time, so not so dreadful. And I didn't spend the night. Came up with a philosophy: "Why am I here? Because I am not somewhere else"

Not quite. My hair is super soft and it's not as kinky as it should be....which is the perfect texture for dreads. I have to let it grow out some more.
