Reese Witherspoon's Dad....

Reese Witherspoon was in a Nashville courtroom Friday to take part in an emergency closed door hearing to sort out the marital status of her parents.

Her mom Betty Witherspoon has filed papers against John Witherspoon, stating that he married another woman during their 42 year union.

Betty filed a petition to grant an annulment for his January 2012 marriage to Tricianne Taylor of Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

The family has also requested that John Witherspoon be place under conservatorship because he is suffering from dementia. Probate judge Randy Kennedy was assigned to rule in the case because his area of expertise is conservatorship and cases regarding diminished mental capacity.

The entertainer’s father is a physician and has struggled with alcohol abuse, hoarding, compulsive spending and recently lost his medical practice – this according to wife Betty.

Isn't that sad? She seems like a really genuine person and I feel bad for her to have to go through this with a parent.

i really like reese too... but if the guy was suffering dementia.. did he even remember his wife? that sounds crazy.. but my gram who got alzheimers didnt remember her 3rd husband of 38yrs.. and only spoke of my bio granddad who died in 1960--- so went on and on about he was the best lover she ever had!!! imagine that coming from your 90yrs old grandmother's mouth??? LOL

That link tells a bit more of the story. Her mom and dad have been separated since 1996, but never divorced. Given the fact he's suffering dementia, it would be interesting to know the details of how this woman and he got together and then married.

It's been 42 years. Some shit you should go ahead and take with a grain of salt.
