Joan crawford won an oscar for mildred pierce, and it saved her career.
i did enjoy this movie... but a couple things bothered me about it. Number one, the daughter's death scene was WAY too short and casual.... "there was nothing more we could do for her, perhaps i'll make you some tea" was very anticlimatic to me.
the other is that vita needed to be slapped a lot more than she was! LOL
