When someone tells you something in confidence, do you always keep it to yourself or do you at the very least tell someone totally out of the loop? For example, a co-worker tells you something private, and you casually mention it to an acquaintance of yours who they don't know.

I guess it depends on the secret and how important it is to keep it secret. In the Air Force Security Service I had a Top Secret clearance, meaning I was trusted with to keep secrets.
I have a few family secrets that I am not to divulge and they will not be. Some co-workers have trusted me in confidence and those secrets remain so.
There is nothing secret about my sex life tho. Oh, the names have been changed to protect my lovers' privacy but the acts are described in most detail, both in my memoirs and fictionalized erotica.

I can keep a secret. I know a lot of secrets that if I opened my mouth about them, a lot of people would be angry and hurt. I always keep secrets to myself.
