    I think it's a good idea especially considering the lack of knowledge some of them have demonstrated. It's certainly fair.

    Unfortunately, the constitution doesn't require it. Any fool can run for elected office and more often than not that is the case.

    Beat me to it. Besides it wouldn't really help. Much of the shit they pull to feather their own nest or the special interests that get most of them elected isn't unconstitutional. It's more important that judges now the constitution.

    If they did, the left would never go for it. They'd say such attempts were Republican attempts to prevent Democratic politicians out of office. (Just like their opposition to showing your ID to vote. Wink ) No, no, if we made Constitutional knowledge a pre-requisite for public office, we'd have almost all Conservatives/People who'd actually fix out problems with real solutions. Never! America cannot allow such improvements!
